Mrs. H. L. Heer - District Club Head

The Mesdames H. L. Heer, F. M. Grimm, Andrew Reifsteck, Stanley Leay, Laura Graves, Edward Thode, W. H. Nash, end the Misses Anna Felt and Emma Robb attended the two day Thirty-sixth Annual Convention of the Thirteen District Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs held at Mt. Carroll on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday the ladies attended the tea and reception and tour of the Campus at Frances Schimer Junior College. At six o'clock they attended a reception and banquet at the M. E. Church where the thirty-sixth birthday anniversary celebration program was given. At eight o'clock they ware again escorted to the Frances Schimer College where the girls of the school put on a program of Music including piano, harp and vocal selections, a Junior chorus and playlets written and given by the girls themselves.

The highlights of the convention were the music by soloists, club trios, club choruses and one County Chorus. Each of the speakers had a message of utmost importance. There was a large attendance and the meeting was very instructive and beneficial.

Mrs. Charles Sciheerer and Miss Marie LeBron attended the Friday afternoon session.

Mrs. H. L. Heer of Ibis City was re-elected president of the 13th district of the Illinois Federation of Woman's Clubs at the convention at Mt. Carroll Friday morning.

Mrs. M. W. Stark of Savanna was elected president of the Carroll county Federation of Woman's Clubs.

Other district officers elected were: Mrs. H. H. Howard of Galena, corresponding secretary for one year; Mrs. Fay Rogers of Morrison, second vice president for three years; Mrs. Keek of Freeport recording secretary for one year.

Over 300 women attended the two day meeting.

Mrs. C. M. Dargan of Pontiac, gave the principal address of the session on "Citizenship" Mrs. William F. Farrell of Chicago, state president also gave a splendid address.
