1932 POLL BOOK
OF VOTES CAST AT THE
ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
Held at Township Hall
in the First Election Precinct, Town of Apple River
in the County of Jo Daviess and State of Illinois,
on the Fifth day of April, A. D. 1932
This 20 page booklet contains the affidavits of Election Judges and Clerks, the numbered listing of 254 voters, names of candidates running for each office and vote counts for each candidate. The back cover contains instructions to Judges and Clerks, such as, how to handle vacancies on the Board of Judges, opening and closing times of the polls, handling ballots, posting and publishing notice of an election.
Page 2 contains affidavits of the Judges and Clerks. After being sworn in, they each signed an oath.
Voter pages are numbered separately from 1 to 16. Space is available for 1280 names with 80 to a page. There were 254 voters recorded in this book. There were a couple obvious misspellings that I transcribed as written.
Pages 19 and 20 list who was running for each office and the number of votes they received. Only two offices were voted on - Highway Commissioner and Constable - each having two candidates running.
The Jo Daviess County ILGenWeb greatfully acknowledges the tremendous work in the transcription done by Karlie White to complete this listing. Thank You Karlie! |
