Long Illness Results in Death of Veteran Employee of United Mill Works Co.

Adelbert W. Charter, 63, died Friday evening in a local hospital after an illness of three years.   He came to Wichita in 1886 and was an employe of the United Mill Works company for 20 years.  As foreman, he had charge of the millwork on Hotel Lassen, Wichita High school, Wesley hospital, Hotel Broadview and other structures.  Mr. Charter came to Wichita from Galena, Ill.  He was a member of the Episcopal church, Masonic lodge No. 99, A. F. & A. M., and the M. W. A.   He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Johnson, of Kansas City, Mo., two sons, Charles A., Beloit, Wis., and Robert W., 318 Cleveland avenue, with whom he made his home, two sisters, Mrs. P. H. Brinker, Long Beach, Cal., and Mrs. A. W. Crawford, Salem, Ill. Downing mortuary is in charge.   Wichita Eagle, July 11, 1926.
