B.C. Wilmarth is called by death

Benjamin Crossman Wilmarth passed away at 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at his home on Dewey Avenue. Although he had not been ill for many days he suffered considerably during the short time of his last illness, and death came at a great relief to the patient sufferer.

He is survived by his widow and five children, also a brother, John, of Tacoma, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. Emma Mann of Antioch, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. He was a kind and loving father and will be missed by the following children: Benjamin, Jr., Russell and Leslie of Galena; H/P/ Wilmarth of Plankington, S.D., and Mrs. Oscar Olson of Chicago.

Mr. Wilmarth was born in Vinegar Hill, May 11, 1861, and he has lived in and around Galena all of his life where he has made many friends among his neighbors and acquaintances. Friends may call at the Uehren & Furlong Chapel.

The funeral services will be conducted at the Chapel on Wednesday afternoon by Rev. E.A. Ballis of the First Presbyterian church, commencing at 2:30 o'clock. The body will be laid to rest in Greenwood Burial Park.
