Mary (Charter) CRAWFORD-Mrs. Andrew Crawford Passes Away Today

Mrs. Andrew Crawford passed away at her home on Seminary Hill at 11:15 o'clock this morning.  Mrs. Crawford, formerly Miss Mary Charter, was a long time resident of Galena.  Her husband passed away July 16, 1929.  Surviving are the following children, Harry, William, Mrs. Mabel Mullen and Annie.-The Galena Daily Gazette, September 11, 1936.


Mary (Charter) CRAWFORD-Particulars Of Death Of Mrs. Andrew W. Crawford.

Mrs. Andrew W. Crawford nee (Mary Lavica Charter) passed away at her home at 436 N. High street at 11:15 o'clock Friday morning.  Being not seriously ill, her passing was rather a shock to her family and many friends.&nbps; Mary Charter was born at Warren, Ill. on March 13, 1863, and came to Galena with her parents when a child and has made Galena her home ever since.  She attended the public schools in Galena and was married to Andrew W. Crawford, who preceded her in death in 1929.  Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Methodist church, a faithful friend and wonderful neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand.  A loving mother who lived for her family and home which came above all else for her.  She leaves to mourn her death, two daughters, Miss Anna Crawford at home, Mrs. Leonard (Mabel) Mullen of Rockford; two sons, Harry W. Crawford, Compton, Calif., and William Crawford, Galena.  One daughter and one son preceded her in death in infancy.  Five grandchildren also survive.  Funeral services will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. P. R. McMahan officiating.  Burial will be made in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery.-The Galena Daily Gazette, September 12, 1936.
