Funeral of Mrs. Alec Dodds
Services Held at Family Home on Hill Wednesday

The funeral of Mrs. Alec Dodds was held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from her late home on the hill. Dr. J.R. McGlade spoke a few words of consolation to the bereaved family and to the host of friends who had gathered to give silent tribute to this departed lady.

Mrs. Naomi Glasgow and Joseph Hissem sang several of Mrs. Dodds favorite hymns.

The pall bearers were Henry Ritter, A.W. Thode, F.J. Desmond, B.F. Meusel, Robert Martin and Chris Glick. She was laid to rest in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery.

Many were the beautiful floral tributes to her memory.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were Ben Frazer of Dubuque, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Frazer of Baraboo, Wis., Robert Frazer of Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reck of Rockford and Mrs. T.L. Schoonhover of Rochelle, Ill.

Mary Elizabeth Frazer Dodds was born in Galena in the year 1857. She died on Monday, October 3rd, {1927}.

Those who survive her in the immediate family are her husband, Alexander Dodds, and three daughters and two sons; namely Mrs Thomas Schoonhover of Rochelle, Ill., Mrs. Lee Morton, Mrs. Thomas Childs; and Samuel and John Dodds of Galena. One daughter had preceeded her in death.

Other relatives are one sister Mrs. Ben Wilmarth Sr., and three brothers Samuel G. Frazer of Baraboo, Wis., Benjamin Frazer of Dubuque and Thomas Frazer of Galena.

Mrs. Dodds was a charter member of the Pythian Sisters of Galena and had been a faithful member and had done much to help others as long as her strength permitted.
