Martha "Muff" Zahrndt, 91, of Bethany Home in Dubuque, Iowa, and formerly of Galena, died Friday morning, Oct. 23, 1987, at Bethany Home.

Born April 28, 1896, in Galena, she was the daughter of John and Bertha Howarth Heer. She married Henry Zahrndt on May 3, 1924. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1962.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Galena. Surviving are cousins.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, in the Steinke Funeral Home with the Rev. William Harnish, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Casket bearers were James Vincent, Terry Swing, Leo Oldenburg, Harold Larey and David Hamilton.
