EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. -- Anise (Kroll) Bonnet, 86, of 615 W. Heller Drive, East Dubuque, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, East Dubuque, with Pastor Chris St. Clair officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Mrs. Bonnet worked at Farley & Loetscher Mfg. Co. for 10 years. She then worked in the office at East Dubuque High School. She operated and was a partner of Frentress Lake Properties, LLC, retiring in 1988. She was born on May 14, 1921, in East Dubuque, daughter of William and Elsye (Heller) Kroll. She married Oscar Bonnet on Oct. 12, 1948; he preceded her in death on April 3, 1991. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Royal Neighbors of America, 62-Plus Euchre Club, Widow's Club and Farley & Loetscher Club. She loved music and playing cards. Surviving are two sons of East Dubuque; two grandchildren, and a niece. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Helen Belongia, on March 10, 2000. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church, East Dubuque.

East Dubuque, Ill. -- Services for Oscar H. Bonnet, 73, of 600 Heller Drive, Frentress Lake, East Dubuque, will be at 10am Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Dubuque. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9pm today at Miller Funeral Home, 1185 Route 35N, East Dubuque, where members of the East Dubuque American Legion Post 787 will meet at 7:45pm and the parish wake service will be said at 8pm. Mr. Bonnet was employed at the Chicago Dubuque Foundry Corp. in East Dubuque until his retirement. He was born Dec. 5, 1917, in East Dubuque, the son of Joseph and Odelia (Hendricks) Bonnet. He died at 6am Wednesday, April 3, 1991, at home.

He married Anise Kroll on Oct. 12, 1948, in East Dubuque; she survives. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran. He was a member of East Dubuque American Legion Post 787, St. Mary's Catholic Church in East Dubuque and the International Molders and Allied Workers Local 263, and was a partner in the Frentress Lake Summer Resort. Also surviving are two sons, both of East Dubuque; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Bonnet and Mrs. Ida Sherman, both of East Dubuque and Mrs. Roman "Bud" (Leona "Pete") Ginter of Kieler, Wis.; and a brother, Ralph H. of East Dubuque. An Oscar H. Bonnet Memorial Fund has been established.

Helen Belongia, 71, formerly of 3520 Patton Street, Eau Claire, passed away Friday, March 10, 2000, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. She was born April 14, 1928, in East Dubuque, Illinois to William H. and Elsye M. (Heller) Kroll. She graduated from the East Dubuque High School and attended the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. In 1952 she married John R. Thurston and had a daughter (living). Helen married Reuben Belongia on November 8, 1979. They spent 15 winters in Lehigh Acres, Florida. She was involved with the Lehigh Acres Art League and chaired art shows for many years. Helen was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, the University Women's Association and several other local organizations. Her love for music, particularly sacred choral music, involved her in choirs throughout her life. She is the co-owner of the Frentress Lake Summer Resort, East Dubuque, Illinois. Survivors include her husband, Reuben Belongia, a daughter, Amy, stepdaughters, four stepgrandchildren, and two step great grandchildren; a sister, Anise Bonnet of East Dubuque, Illinois; two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, David William. Friends may call from 2pm until 4pm on Sunday. March 12, 2000 at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home. Private burial will be Monday morning at the Forest Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11am Monday at Peace Lutheran Church with the Reverand Mark Schulz officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Chippewa Valley Health Clinic or to Peace Lutheran Church.
