Mrs. Milo (Jean Biesmann) Meier, 47, of Rock Island, Illinois, formerly of Galena, died Tuesday, March 11, at Moline Public Hospital in Moline, Illinois, after an extended illness.

Born in Galena on September 6, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Angeline Meneguin Biesmann. On August 11, 1951, she was united in marriage to Milo C. Meier in Galena. Before her marriage she was employed at the Savanna Ordnance Depot and she and her husband lived there until 1955, when they moved to Rock Island.

She is survived by her husband, Milo, three daughters, Mary Jo, Peggy Ann, and Nancy, all at home, and a brother, Charles Biesmann of Galena. Her parents, a brother and sister, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 14 at 9:00 am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock Island. There was a brief visitation Friday afternoon at the Nash-Schmadeke Funeral Home for her many Galena friends and burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery in Galena at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Robert Devine of St. Michael's Church officiating at the Committal Service.

Otto T. Harris, 77, of 341 Franklin Street, Galena, died at his home Sunday morning, Nov. 23, 1986.

He was born in Galena on Dec. 26, 1908, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harris. He is survived by three sons, Thomas, of Helena, Mont., Richard of New Orleans, La., and David of San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter, Barbara Bartsch of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and two brothers, Elroy and Marvin, both of Galena. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Biesman; his parents; one brother, Albert; and one son, Robert.

Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 10am at the Furlong Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Tranel officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Tom Harris, 64, died suddenly at is home on Thursday morning. He was born in Galena, Ill to Marguerite and Otto Harris on June 8, 1931, where he made his home until 1954. In Galena he met his wife, Barbara Doherty, whom he married in 1954, in Whittier, Calif.

Tom and Barb have three sons. In addition to his wife and children, Tom is survived by his sister, Barbara Bartsch of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brothers David of Phoenix and Dick of Galena; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom was a veteran of the Korean War. After completing his college education he became an officer in the U. S. Public Health Service,serving with the Environmental Protection Agency from 1965, until his retirement in 1988. H moved with his family to Helena in 1979, and has made Helena his home since that time. After his retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively. When he wasn't traveling, he volunteered his services at the Montana State Talking Books Library. Tom was a remarkable husband and father and he will be sadly missed.

Cremation has taken place. He requested that no memorial service will be held. Memorials may be given to the Lewis and Clark County AIDS Coalition or the National Alzheimer's Association. Linden's Herrmann and Company Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
