Lucinda M. (Betts) Hoy

The remains of the late Mrs. Lucinda Betz Hoy, who passed away at Charles City, Iowa were brought here for burial last week.

Lucinda Betz Hoy was born at Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, October 25, 1843, and died near Charles City, Iowa November 25, 1930, aged 87 years and one month.

She leaves to mourn her departure the following children J. N. and C. E. and Erb Hoy of Charles City, Iowa, Bert of Vida, Montana, Joseph of Brooten, Minnesota, William of Mt. Carroll, Illinois and one daughter, Mrs. Hattie Johnson of Stockton, Illinois, also one brother, John Betz. Her husband preceeded her in death January 1914 and also Pierce Hoy a son and Mrs. Cora White, a daughter have gone on before.

She has lived a long and useful life and was a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Funeral services were held at the Grossman Funeral Home in Charles City, Iowa. Thursday November 27 after which the remains were shipped to her old home Pearl City, ill. for interment.
