Notes / Documentation:
Joseph Waddington and family migrated to the
United States to Williamson County in Illinois in 1849. The census of 1850 of Williamson County, Illinois, Enumeration date 14 Dec 1850, lists the following; Page 29,
Dwelling No. 1122, Family No. 1136 Name Age Sex Color Occupation, etc. Birthplace Joseph WADINGTON 36 M Farmer Eng Ellen WADINGTON 33 F Eng Sarah WADINGTON 11 F Eng
George WADINGTON 8 M Eng William M. WADINGTON 6 M Eng Catherine WADINGTON 4 F Eng Ellen WADINGTON 2 F Eng Also appearing in this census is the following who is probably
the brother of Joseph; George Wadington 32 M Farmer Eng Elizabeth WADINGTON 23 F Eng Sarah WADINGTON 6 F Eng Hannah WADINGTON 4 F Eng May C. WADINGTON 2 F Eng Joseph
WADINGTON 4/12 M Eng All of the above was copied from the microfilm of the Illinois Census of 1850. The Census taker obviously misspelled WADDINGTON and only used one d
in the spelling. The Joseph WADDINGTONS moved from Williamson County to Chicago and then to Nora, Illinois. WADDINGTONS OF ANCIENT TIMES BY MAJOR-GENERAL HENRY FERRERS
WADDINGTON Collector of the WADDINGTON Pedigrees I will commence this sketch of the WADDINGTONS by saying shortly, that they are of a very ancient family. So very ancient
that it may be fairly said that the history of the family cannot be traced to its source. It is lost in the mazes of antiquity. I am aware that this can be said of most
families; I might almost say of all families, but I need not be very particular about others, as long as I do not romance about my own family. Certain it is that the
family-or shall I call it the clan?-was in existence long before the Conqueror arrived in
England. The name of "WADDINGTON" is, in itself, a proof of this assertion, because the meaning of the name is "ton," the town of "ing" the children (of) "Wada or Pada,"
him who possesses a garment. The Waddingtons were, therefore, dressed in garments at the time when others were not so. What better proof than this could be obtained of
the great antiquity and high respectability of the clan? Let me be not misunderstood. I merely allude to the existence of the gentleman who possessed a garment, but am
not prepared to trace back to him, step by step, chiefly because the Parish Registers were not kept with much accuracy in those days, and partly because Somerset House
was not then in existence. Readers of the History of England will have noticed the name of "Wada Dux," who no doubt was a descendant of "him who had a garment," and I
need not attempt to point out where his family seat or castle was, or over how great a part of England he reigned. I have certainly heard of his having a home at
"PADDINGTON," which is only another name for WADDINGTON, Pada and Wada being the same in Anglo-Saxon; and it is equally certain that he had a considerable slice of
country in Yorkshire and Lancashire and elsewhere; where places named after him, such as Wad-how, Wad's- worth, etc., etc., still exist. In the year 798 A.D. he was at
the head of a goodly array of warriors who fought under him at Langho, near Whalley in Lancashire. Wada Dux was a descendant of Woden-a leader who was sure of Valhallah
and who told his men they couldn't get there with any scars on their backs; now one can understand why those old warriors died with their backs to the wall. Now the
Waddingtons were the Land Grabbers apparently. Those WADDINGS who enclosed land appear to take the name of WADDINGTON, for WADETON is clear enough, that our present name
Wade is the Heir of Wada and we are the offshoots of Wade; the Wades and Waddings were not original town makers. The Waddingtons are of the Divine Stock of Woden who was
driven Northward from the Persian Gulf and became a Medicine Man and leader of the Northmen and ultimately deified. This is all in accordance with modern research.

The copy of James Clinton Orr's Birth
Certificate states that his parents lived at 331 East 82nd Street, New York City. The Doctor in attendance was Fred A. Sprague, M.D. who practiced at No. 149 East 90th
Street, New York City. Services were held for J. C. Orr at 2:00 PM. Thursday, August 9, 1951 at the Austin Funeral Home in Three Rivers, MI. The clergyman was Rev. Harold
J. Perschbacher and the Funeral was conducted by Clarence H. Austin. James Clinton's ashes were scattered over Lake Michigan at his request as he had loved sailing on
Lake Michigan in his youth, where he and his brother Irving owned a sailboat called the Vixen. The James Clinton Orr's lived in Gary, Indiana at 773 Johnson Street in
January 1937. They moved to Chesterton, Indiana after that and lived at Calumet Avenue(Old Route 49). Sally E. Waddington received a postcard at #1 Park Row in Chicago,
IL in November, 1906, however it was addressed "In Care of Car Accountant". This may have been one of the addresses of the Illinois Central Railroad, for which her father
Joe W. Waddington worked for, as her sister Ruth V. Waddington lived at 84 E. 71st Street, Chicago, Il in May 1906.
