Hance, Mrs. E.W. Wilkinson, Mrs. Will Frederickson & Mrs. Reid Johnson. Their actual names were not provided. Other sources on the internet list his death date as December 13, 1919. It actually was December 19, 1913. In the birth records at Franklin County Courthouse in Iowa, a child born on Feb. 29, 1888 was listed as Julia Bonjour. This name was crossed out with "Nellie Grace Bonjour" written in. The Franklin County records do not indicate that Velma Bonjour was born there.

Notes: Elizabeth CLAY remarried to Daniel CLEVIDENCE after Abraham died, sometime bet. 1862 (when Abraham died) and 1865. She outlived this husband, too--she was 91 when she died. Dorothy KRISE said, ". . . she lived with Grampa Brubaker until she died she smoked a clay pipe when she would get real mad the smoke would roll." Minnie Sophia's mother, Henriette, remarried also, marrying Henry SCHROEDER. They, along with their daughter Henriette, are also buried in the Clay Cemetery. Charles Henry BRUBAKER died young, at the age of 44, with a certain type of cancer I saw referred to in letters as "black addicent disease" (?). His father-in-law, Thomas STARR, even had him come to Maywood, Cook, Illinois to see a certain doctor, not long before he succumbed to the cancer.

Notes / Documentation:

1) Deeds Cemetery visit. 2) penholl.GED, imported by Lethalu Armstrong 12 April 1999. 3) "Richard Penhallow: His Life and Descendants", copyright 1983, by Aileen Smock DeLong & Lorraine Rivers Harlow, Gateway Press, Inc., Baltimore, MD. 4) Transcription of Family Bible by my aunt, Darlene Koontz. 5) Clay and Morseville cemetery visits, July 5, 1999. 6) Transcription of original letters from Addie ISENBERGER & Mary HARRISON to R.D. BARTLETT dated 1 November 1934. 7) Ancestral File, Submitter: Don A. Grow, 5509 T Street, Lincoln, NE 68504. Submission: AF95-109450. The documentation here is a little bit weak, particularly since I've found some errors with the published book, but they have all been minor. Overall their research methods seem sound. The Family Bible and the letters are strong evidence, I believe. In fact, this is a good time to point out that Obed HARRISON is a first cousin to President William Henry HARRISON--it's mentioned in the letter, and in numerous other written and oral family histories. Lethalu is a descendant of Obed's brother, Capt. Thomas HARRISON, who is also buried in the Deeds Cemetery in Pleasant Valley. See her great-grandfather's memoirs, excerpted on her submission to "The Harrison Repository". http://moon.ouhsc.edu/rbonner/harrison/d0092/g0000026.html#I14244 Also, I'm looking for more information on the NIELSON family ancestors-- they were Danish, so it may have been NIELSEN at one time. But, that's a query, isn't it? I do have holes, though, and if anyone out there has some corrections or can connect up with my information, *please email me*.
