MRS. J.J. SPROULE DIES OF HEART ATTACK ATE HER HOME SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Mrs. J.J. Sproule a life long resident of Galena and well and favorably known, in this vicinity, passed away at her home on Mars avenueSaturday afternoon of a heart attack. Mary Ann Quigley was born in Galena on May 2, 1858, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Quigley. She attended the St. Michael's Parochial school and was a life member of the St. Michael's Catholic church. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of that church. She was united in marriage on Dec. 31, 1876 in Galena to J.J. Sproule, who preceded her in death about 23 years ago. To this union eleven children were born, seven of whom survive; four daughters, Miss Harriet Sproule, Galena; Mrs. J.J. Shewbridge, Chicago; Mrs. O.G. Leach, Evanston, and Mrs. H.C. Blumentritt, Chester, Minn; and three sons, Andrew R. and Samuel W., Spokane, Wash., and Cyrus R., of Galena. She is survived by 37 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Sproule was preceded in death by her parents; three daughters, Mrs. W.D. Honohan, Miss Marcella Sproule and Miss Loretta Sproule; and one son, John J. Sproule.

The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 9:30 from St. Michael's Catholic church, Rev. Thomas R. Shewbridge, officiating. The casket bearers were as follows; Herbert Honohan, Ray Shewbridge, Edwin Sproule, Glen Leach, Kenneth Sproule, and Andrew Sproule, all grandsons of Mrs. Sproule. Interment was made in St. Michael's cemetery.
