GALENA, Ill - Mrs. John (Bertha) Bucher, 83, of Galena died Monday morning at Northwestern Illinois Community Hospital in Galena. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday at the Nash-Schmadeke Funeral Home, Galena, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 7pm Monday at the funeral home. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. William Beadle, Galena; and one brother, Henry Heller, Schullsburg, Wis.

MRS. JOHN BUCHER
Mrs. John (Bertha) Bucher, 83, of 702 Park Ave., died early Monday morning at the Northwestern Illinois Community Hospital. Born in Galena on July 1, 1882, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Leyh Heller. On January 27, 1904, she was united in marriage to John J. Bucher in Hanover. They farmed their lifetime in Rice Township until Mr. Bucher's death on August 19, 1940. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Galena and a former member of the Ladies Aid of that church.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. William (Minnie) Beadle of Galena; a brother, Henry Heller, of Shullsburg; her niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Creighton, with whom she made her home; two grand-nieces, Mrs. Peter Wossner of Hollywood, Calif., and Mary Kay Creighton of Galena; a grand-nephew, John Creighton of East Dubuque; and other nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 30, at 2pm at the Nash-Schmadeke Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond White, minister of the First Methodist Church, officiating. casket bearers were Donald Petitgoue, Earl Heller, Wallace Fellenzer, Thomas Beadle and Wayne Wienen, of Galena, and Alfred Heller, of Shullsburg, Wis. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
