Bertha Wise

Miss Bertha (Birdie) Wise, 81, of Galena died at River Bluff Nursing Home, Rockford, where she resided the past two years, Saturday, November 23.

She was born in Galena January 12, 1887, the daughter of the late John and Louise Lehner Wise.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews including Mrs. Connie Johnson of Rockford and Ross Wise of Galena. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and five brothers.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 25 at 1:30 p.m. at the Furlong Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Hodgson of the first Presbyterian Church conducting the service.

Casket bearers were Everett Coates, Pat Hatter, George Virtue, John O'Neill, Donald Petitgout and Clyde Perry. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Furlong Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
