Died of Old Age

Clement Perriolat, aged 84 years, died at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Kuntz, in Muddy Hollow at 7 o'clock yesterday morning of extreme old age. Deceased was born in France in 1794, and was educated for the priesthood, which profession he was forced by circumstances to abandon. He emigrated to America in 1851, in company with the Kuntz family, and with them located in Galena. He was an uncle of Clem Koontz of this city, also of the late Mrs. Lawrence Schwab. The funeral took place from the residence of his sister in Muddy Hollow at 10 o'clock this forenoon. The remains were escorted to the German Catholic Church where further religious services were conducted by the Rev. Father Bally, after which the body, followed by a large number of the friends of the family, was taken to the German Catholic cemetery for interment.
