MRS. JOHN J. GUNN DEAD

Dies at Home of Dr. G. W. Evert on Franklin Street on Sunday Evening

   Mrs. John J. Gunn died at the home of Dr. G. W. Evert on Franklin street Sunday evening March 3rd at 7:30 o'clock after a short illness with pneumonia.  Mrs. Gunn, formerly Miss Reilly was born in Galena Jan. 6, 1851, and has resided in this city since birth.  Her husband, John J. Gunn, preceded her in death a few years ago.  Mrs. Gunn is survived by her two sons, James R. and Owen F. Gunn, the former of this city and the latter a member of Camp Gordon, Atlanta, Ga., and a grand daughter, little Jean P. Gunn, also a brother, George W. Reilly of Wichita, Kans.  Mrs. Gunn had any number of friends in Galena for she made friends very easily for she was a friendly and kindly disposition.  She was a Catholic by faith.   The funeral of Mrs. John J. Gunn was held Tuesday morning at nine o'clock with a service at St. Mary's Catholic church, Rev. Fr. J. K. Nilles officiating.  Interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery, the following being the pall bearers: John Cloran, M. C. Slattery, John Kane, Daniel Holland, Burt Young and Dr. G. W. Evert.
