The Late H. J. Donegan

Remains Arrive and Funeral is Held This Afternoon

The remains of the late H. J. Donegan, whose death occurred at his home in Chicago last Thursday morning very suddenly of congestion of the lungs, arrived in this city over the Illinois Central at 7:55 o'clock Friday evening and were in charge of his mother-in-law, Dr. M. H. Cleary. Mr. Cleary was greatly surprised on hearing of Mr. Donegan's death as he had always been a very healthy and robust man. Upon their arrival here the remains were taken directly from the depot to the home of Dr. Cleary on Bouthillier street on the East Side from whence the funeral was held at 3 o'clock this afternoon to St. Michael's Catholic church at 3:30 o'clock. The last sad rites to the memory of the departed gentleman were largely attended, evidencing the high esteem and respect in which he is held in this community where he had often visited while in life. At the conclusion of the solemn church services the remains were escorted to the East Side cemetery where interment was made.

The pall bearers wee W. D. Wiseman, Ben McDermott, S. C. Brunner, John Crowley, John Breheny and Tom Gorman.
