Killed by Lightning

James McQuade, who has lived for some years in Galena and Dubuque, has been engaged this season as a raftsman on the Mississippi River. While coming down on a raft last Friday, he was struck by lightning near Winona, and instantly killed. Several others on the raft were more or less hurt by the shock. McQuade’s remains were brought to this city on Sunday, and deposited in the Catholic Cemetery.
