Funeral of Miss Cottier

The funeral of Miss Lena Cottier was held Sunday at 2 o'clock from the residence of James Cringle on Jackson street. There was a large assemblage of friends of the family to attend the obsequies. Rev. E. C. Arnold, pastor of the First Methodist church, conducted the services and delivered a brief discourse in which he paid a feeling tribute to the character of the departed young lady. A selected choir composed of Mrs. Leslie Gundry, Miss Annie Yeaman, W. T. Hodson and T. E. Reynolds sang the hymns. The selections were "Calmly Say Thy Will Be Done," "Asleep in Jesus," and "We Shall Meet Beyond the River." The remains reposed in a white casket which was laden with floral offerings. At the conclusion of the services the cortege formed and proceeded to Greenwood, where the burial was made. A number of friends from out of town attended the funeral. Among them were Mrs. W. L. White and John White, of Apple River, and W. J. Edwards, George Millhouse, Chas. Edwards, Albert Hallet and Andrew McKeague.
