KNEEBONE posted by Colleen Sherman on Monday, December 7, 1998

I am trying to find information on Josiah KNEEBONE a settler to Jo Daviess Country from Cornwall. I believe he had one of the finest houses and farm land. I have traced his five brothers to New Zealand and have found every descdenant living in New Zealand. We have in fact just published a book of the Kneebones in New Zealand. Josiah and his sister Mary settled in Jo Daviess County and so far I have not been able to trace any of his descendants. I don't quite know much about research inthe United States and I have not done any there, mainy the United Kingdom, New Zealand and a little in Australia.

My gggrandmother Louisa Sutton b. 5-27-1833 in Jo Daviess Co. PA. Her parents were George Sutton and Mary Whiting who Immigrated to the USA early in the century from Nottinghamshire, Eng. I do not have Louisa's siblings names, but perhaps since the time frame is about right, perhaps they are related. If you have Sutton infro I would be interested in it and I would share my scanty infro. Juno does not accept attachments, however my other address is : farm@jps.net
